TERRAFIRMA’S fast-rising shooting guard Jerrick Ahanmisi is enjoying his best season as a pro in the ongoing PBA Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup.

The 28-year-old former Adamson standout leads the pack among PBA locals in scoring with 23.7 points in the mid-season conference where the Dyip are off to a surprise 3-1 start.

Ahanmisi, who recently ruled the Obstacle Challenge for guards and the Three-Point Shootout in the PBA All-Star Weekend in Candon City, has been one of the biggest reasons why the Dyip got off to a franchise-tying 3-0 start this conference.

The Dyip though saw their bid to get off to a franchise-best 4-0 start come to a halt when the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters dealt them a reality check, via a 133-105 shellacking on March 25.

Ahanmisi, who was selected by Magnolia as its 10th overall pick in the 2020 PBA draft, led the Dyip with a career-high 37 points on a 5-of-7 shooting from three-point distance.

At the moment, Ahanmisi is in Singapore where he has been selected as one of the members of the Gilas Pilipinas team seeing action in the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup.

Meanwhile, Barangay Ginebra’s sophomore guard RJ Abarrientos is just a shade behind Ahanmisi with his average of 23.6 points.

NLEX’s high-scoring guard and last season’s scoring champion Robert Bolick is at third spot with 22.7 points per game average.

Athletic Phoenix guard Ricci Rivero, who recently banged in a career-beat 40 points, is just hanging behind Bolick’s coattail at 22.5 points average, while San Miguel Beer’s sweet-shooting wingman CJ Perez rounds up the Commissioner’s Cup top 5 local scorers at 22.2 points.

On the other hand, TNT’s much-ballyhooed import Bol Bol leads all foreign reinforcements in scoring with 37.3 points, while averaging a fifth-best 16.3 rebounds to lead the defending champions TNT Tropang 5G to a 3-1 start.

Magnolia’s new import Clinton Chapman technically tops the scoring honor at 39 points, but he played just one game so far where he led the Hotshots to a 121-109 mauling of guest team Macau Black Knights.

Meanwhile, ageless Ginebra import Justin Brownlee remains a force to reckon with after averaging 36.6 points per game to help Ginebra get off to a 2-1 start.

South Sudanese Nuni Omot, whom Chapman replaced just last week, averaged 32.3 points in the Hotshots’ 0-3 start, while burly Robert Upshaw III normed 29.5 points in two games so far with Blackwater.

Phoenix’s hard working James Dickey tops the rebounds among imports at 17.5 boards through four games, while nine-time league Most Valuable Player June Mar Fajardo lords it over among locals with 17 caroms per contest.
