MANILA, Philippines — Mafia trouble and memory loss drive the upcoming Netflix romantic-comedy K-drama "Our Sticky Love," starring Ha Young and Jung Hae-in.
Young plays a prosecutor named Go Eun-sae, who is tracking a crime syndicate led by Baek Sang-gil ("Squid Game" actor Heo Sung-tae) until she figures in an incident that gives her amnesia.
Eun-sae then encounters in the hospital Hae-in's Jang Tae-ha, a former youth boxing champion turned gang member now working as a small-town coach, who recognizes the lawyer as his first love.
As seen in the trailer, Tae-ha takes it upon himself to protect Eun-sae by claiming to be her boyfriend and moving in together, where even more things spiral.
Series director Kim Jang-han, whose past projects are "My Demon," starring Song Kang, and "You Raise Me Up," described the show in a statement as "a heart-warming, feel-good romantic comedy."
"It's a story about building love that binds two people as tightly as sticky, sweet Korean taffy," Jang-han said. "The series' irresistible charm will leave you unable to pull yourself away, just like getting stuck to Korean taffy before you even realize it."
Young made her screen debut in 2019's "Doctor Prisoner," which later led to roles in "Doona!," "The Good Detective," "Now, We Are Breaking Up," and a cameo in "Extraordinary Attorney Woo."
Last year, she starred in "The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call," and this year has already been in "Boyfriend on Demand," "Bloodhounds," and "Teach You A Lesson."
Hae-in, meanwhile, is best known for starring in "D.P.," "Snowdrop," "While You Were Sleeping," "Something in the Rain," "Connect," and most recently, "Love Next Door."
"Our Sticky Love," also starring Lee Jae-won, and "Weak Hero Class," "When Life Gives You Tangerines," and "Reborn Rookie" star Lee Jun-young in a special appearance begins streaming on Netflix this August 7. — Video from Netflix K-Content's YouTube channel
