Nissan’s motorsport and customization arm is expanding into Australia, with plans to establish dedicated NISMO Performance Centers nationwide.
Nissan Motorsports & Customizing Co., Ltd. (NMC) and Nissan Oceania confirmed a multi-phase expansion that will give Australian customers improved access to NISMO parts, accessories, restoration support, and technical services.
The first NISMO Performance Center is set to open at Nissan Ferntree Gully in Victoria in the second half of 2026, with further locations to be announced. Australia will be among the first markets outside Japan to host the centers, which will be staffed by factory-certified NISMO Meisters and maintain a direct link to NISMO’s Omori Factory in Japan.
The announcement was made during a visit to Sydney by Yutaka Sanada, President and CEO of NMC, ahead of this weekend’s GT-R Festival. Sanada cited Australia’s performance car culture and active GT-R community as key reasons for prioritizing the market.
“Australia is a natural priority because of its mature performance culture, strong GT-R community and clear appetite for authentic NISMO heritage, performance parts, technical expertise and motorsport-driven experiences,” -Yutaka Sanada, President and CEO of NMC
The expansion follows a broader global strategy announced by NISMO in December 2025, which includes growing its restoration, restomod, and parts businesses, initially centered on the Nissan Skyline GT-R R32, R33, and R34. The brand also plans to expand into additional vehicle segments beyond traditional sports cars.
